Big Star is a pretty good store. Kind of pricey with some items, but will surprise you often with some good sales and... mark down items! I really enjoy the hot deli! Good variety of food and mostly great tasting too! And it's in a convenient location! I shop there several times a week, at least the one one west Broadway...!read more

I was on my way to see a sick friend and remembered she said she wanted some sweets pickles. I was approaching Gene... Stimson's and decided to drop in. I was frantically looking at the aisles for pickles and one of the store managers asked "CAN I HELP YOU FIND SOMETHING" I responded "PICKLES", he said last isle on the right near the produce, I thanked him and sure enough there were the pickles olives and more of all kinds. I quickly got not one but two (2) of the largest jars I could. I also got 3 different kinds of potato chips went up to the checkout and thought I need something to drink!! The cashier said there is a machine right here and one right over there. I chose the nearest one got two peach sodas, paid for my stuff and was on my way. My first encounter was and A++.
